Cardiff Council is one of the largest employers in Wales, joining an experienced and motivated group of Officers within the Climate Emergency Service area as part of the PTE Directorate. We are passionate about making a positive difference, supporting communities and neighbourhoods, and achieving real outcomes on the ground.

**About the job**
You will be responsible for the delivery of the of the Council’s One Planet Cardiff strategy and the overall co-ordination of the Councils Climate Emergency response. You will work directly with elected members and national organisations to agree programmes, mandates, governance arrangements and outcomes. You will be the responsible officer for the delivery of multimillion pound schemes including taking up the role of Managing Director of the council led Cardiff Heat Network limited.

**What We Are Looking For From You**

You will need to be a focussed and resolute leader with a passion for rapid and sustained progress in response to the Climate Emergency. You will be an excellent communicator with a wealth of experience in negotiating and influencing. You need to be able to think strategically as well as having an eye on outcome delivery. Management of direct reporting staff as well experience working within matrix management approaches is essential.
