**Facilitator**

**The Role**
MAIN have been successful in securing funding to expand our services in County Durham for Children and Young People.

The role includes working with both adults and children in a variety of community settings, planning and mapping out services and working creatively within a team and working in a variety of groups for children with additional needs and/or disability.

The role may also include some 1-1 support work on an outreach basis working with individuals to work towards meeting social outcomes, such as independent living skills, finance management, accessing the local community, increasing confidence.

**Role and Responsibilities**
- Plan, coordinate and supervise a programme of activities in consultation with the Service Team, managing the day to day operation of individual group sessions.
- Confirm staff and young person attendance weekly along with cash sheet
- Outlining briefings for the team, setting out session’s plans and ensuring resources are in place to carry out activities.
- Managing budget for service, ensuring targets are being met and feeding back to the Service Team when group members are not attending a session.
- Ensuring that outreach workers work within the guidance set out in policies and procedures, following health and safety policies and individual support plans, moving them towards meeting agreed outcomes.
- Maintain records relating to participating children and adults, their attendance and any accidents or incidents relating to any specific service
- To work with adults and children both in a 1-1 setting and within groups and in community settings.
- Maintain quality of service provision by regular feedback to the Service Team.
- Awareness at all times of children’s or adult’s welfare developments and appropriate behaviour.
- Complete all training as outlined by the Management Team.

**WHAT YOU NEED.**

- You will enjoy working with children or adults, in a fun way and creative way.
- You will act as a positive role model encouraging the development of communication and social skills, with fun and challenging activities
- You will be a team player.
- You may have a special interest that you would like to share with the children or adults i.e sports/creative art/cookery/drama/dance
- Level 2/3 NVQ in childcare or Health & Social Care or working towards this or proven experience and knowledge of working with children with an Autistic Spectrum Condition or additional needs.
- Understanding of Safeguarding, Equal Opportunities, Vulnerable Adults/Child Policies, Risk Assessments, Policies and Procedures, personalisation agenda.

**AREAS COVERED**:County Durham

**HOURLY RATE**:£11.66 per hour

**HOURS PER WEEK**:Zero hour contract hours are determined by the club(s) you will Facilitating. The current funding is for an initial 3 month period, running on Saturday's from 10am-5pm.

**TRAINING**:Full induction process is carried out for all new employees along with Autism Awareness training, Team Teach training, Accredited Level 3 Understanding Autism Qualification, Leadership qualifications, first aid, Food Hygiene along with any additional qualifications identified through the PDP process.

**Job Type**: Zero hours contract

**Salary**: From £11.66 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 6 per week

- A-Level or equivalent (preferred)

**Experience**:

- working with people with disabilities: 1 year (preferred)
