Maintenance Operative Job Description

Job Summary

We are delighted to be recruiting for a Maintenance Operative to join Innovation Control, this position will be based at Friargate Court in Preston.

This role is to provide a pro-active and responsive repairs, maintenance and health & safety inspections to ensure that faults in properties, including household equipment and fittings are dealt with in a timely fashion and all health and safety responsibilities are completed on time.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out a variety of planned and reactive building maintenance tasks, which will be varied in nature and will include general building, joinery, tiling, painting, minor electrical, external works and plumbing.
- Booking and supervising contractors for major repairs.
- Monitoring cleaning materials, tools, and furniture and reordering as required.
- Adhering to the company’s safety policies to create a safe working environment for everyone.
- Use relevant IT systems to record all work undertaken including contracted work and Health & safety inspections.
- Be on call out of hours and respond to emergency calls for maintenance and repairs.
- Carry out routine health and safety activities and checks e.g. testing of portable electrical appliances, safe water temperature management, etc.
- Booking and supervising contractors for preventative maintenance and statutory inspections.
- Ensure that all records, plans, job sheets of works are of a high standard and are available for inspection if required.
- To maintain a clean site both internally and externally.
