Structured Holiday during college closures at Christmas and all leftover accrued holiday is then paid at the end of the academic year.

**Summary**
This is a live-in position. The post holder is expected to live in the accommodation for the duration of the academic year to effectively become an integral part of the daily lives of the students with the focus on student engagement and community feel within the site.
Please be aware that there will be a variation to the typical shift pattern during the first two weeks of employment to cover training requirements and then the arrival of residents.
We also have positions at our Birmingham ccommodation
Main duties and Responsibilities
- To support the Accommodation Officer / Residence Manager in the arrangement the daily provision of the meal plan and ensure that accurate records are kept and that food safety and hygiene standards are maintained.
- Conduct morning welfare and evening curfew checks on residents.
- Offer support and guidance to all KSS residents, promote good resident welfare & enforce behaviour policies and to be a part of the out-of-hours emergency response rota.
- Ensure that any welfare, child safety, medical, pastoral and building issues are immediately reported to the line manager, duty manager or escalated to a senior KSS manager as appropriate.
- Regularly interact with students to encourage participation in enrichment activities arranged by MPW and KSS.
- To help deliver the enrichment calendar of events and activities throughout the year.
- To assist & supervise residents during study sessions & guided learning, meal times, and curfew.
- To participate and complete all necessary training in the KSS training week in August and ongoing training as required.
- When necessary assist in the administration of the residence including room inspections, student arrivals, departures and room inventories.
- Provide cover when colleagues are away on leave or through illness.
- Attend regular meetings with the KSS Residence Team (KRT) and senior KSS management team to share any concerns and ensure information is frequently shared and discussed as appropriate.
- Maintain resident files to a high degree of accuracy including records of their stay in the residence
- Any other reasonable duty as requested by the KRT or senior KSS management
**Other considerations**
Please be aware that there will be a variation to the typical rota pattern during the first two weeks of KSS employment to cover training requirements and the arrival of our residents.

**Weekdays 7:30am - 9am**
Wake up and welfare checks for students and relaying any sickness to then be reported to their personal tutor and contacting their Guardian to for assistance making any relevant medical appointments
**6:30pm/ 10pm to 11pm (Sunday to Thursday)**
Checking signing in and out book, assist in the management of the additional services on site and participating and engaging in enrichment activities.
Supporting the Duty Supervisor on curfew checks and carrying out inspections and completing any relevant health and safety and building paperwork
**Weekend 10am - 12pm**
Wake up and welfare checks for students and relaying any sickness to their Guardian for assistance making any relevant medical appointments
**On call**
Hold duty telephone to respond to / deal with any situations as they arise. Whilst on call, holding duty phone you must be able to return to the residence with 30 mins in order to be able to deal with emergency cases in person
**6:30pm - 8pm / 10pm to 12am (Friday and Saturday)**
Perform Room inspections. Check sign in sheet and chase those that are missing. Enforce missing resident policy for late/missing residents. Once all residents are accounted for to ensure that common rooms are clean and tidy and lock them as appropriate.
Check other common rooms and communal out-of-bounds areas.

- Resident Assistant staff require, or will receive, the following training/security checks:
- Enhanced DBS Checks to prove their suitability to work with children in and out of the home environment.
- Two written references from previous employers asking for suitability for the role.
- Access to online training CPD certified and also bespoke in house training
- Full employment history with any significant gaps explained, previous employers may be contacted.
- Sufficient proof must be held of any relevant qualifications.
- Right to work in the UK
