We are looking for a new Outpatient Services Support Clerk to join our team
Outpatient Booking Services is based at 20 Rouen Road in the city centre. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming but work in a very busy office environment. Full training is supplied and progression within the department is available.
Full time, 37.5 hours per week with flexible working options available.
You will be part of a team responsible for recording referrals received for new patient first appointments, this will involve using multiple systems to retrieve, record and upload the referral. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to record information accurately and to concentrate for long periods of time.
You will also support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate NNUH’s ‘PRIDE’ values of People focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence.

- Ensure all new referrals are recorded within the timeframe set
- Opening and checking incoming mail and updating PAS as necessary, distributing and re-directing through the appropriate channels, e.g. Outpatient Referral Console or mailboxes
- Ensure all new registrations are tracked on PAS to the Health Records Library, unless an appointment is pending within 48 hours, whereby track to appropriate destination
- Auctioning changes affecting the Master Index and generally assisting in its maintenance
- Add referrals to the Outpatient Referral Console system for the consultants to accept or reject, for those specialities not currently using the console system, scan and send referrals via relevant mailbox facilities
- Assist booking staff with adding patients to outpatient waiting lists when requested
