Fairways Care Home is a subsidiary of Care Plus Group. Fairways is committed to improving the health & social care for some of the most vulnerable people within North East Lincolnshire.
Located on Little Coates Road in Grimsby, the service provides high quality Residential and Dementia care for older people. The aim of the Care Home is to provide each resident with care and support in a comfortable and safe environment with a calm, relaxed atmosphere. Our staff are selected for their positive and sensitive attitude and must endeavour to offer the best possible care and support, as part of agreed planned needs which focuses on the promotion of independence and control for the individual.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Bank Medicator. You will form part of the leadership team for the home, focusing on the delivery of first class care to existing residents. You will also be encouraged to generate ideas and suggestions to help plan and develop future service needs.
The role of the Medicator is essential in ensuring that both long term and short stay residents receive the correct level of support to successfully manage their medication needs. This will include assessing risk, support with identifying and ordering medication, safe storage, administration and well as stock checks and quality control.
Therefore, it is essential that you have a proven track record in the safe handling of medication administration and associated legislative requirements.
You will need to have an understanding of the health and safety requirements of a care home environment and be able to identify and manage presented risks, as well as a good understanding of CQC regulation and commissioning contractual requirements.
Essential requirements for this role are:
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent or working towards).
- At least two years’ experience working with a health and social care setting.
- Have a proven track record in the safe administration of medication.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good record keeping skills.
- Knowledge of current legislation, including CQC regulations.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- The ability to work autonomously as required.
