As a Yard Representative / Driver at S&J Wackett Timber Merchants, you will play a vital role in the smooth operations of our company. Your primary responsibility will be to support the daily yard activities, including inventory management and customer service. Additionally, you will be responsible for driving company vehicles to deliver products to our customers.

At S&J Wackett’s we encourage training and professional development, and so this role also offers paid training for a class C1 (7.5 Tonne), Forklift certification, and other certifications that would encourage further development.

Start Date: ASAP

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Learn and understand the operations of the company, including the stock and products available.
- Assist with the organisation and maintenance of the yard, ensuring products are stored safely and efficiently.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with inquiries, providing product information, stock levels and pricing.
- Prepare orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper loading and securing of products for delivery.
- Deliver products to customers in a timely manner, maintaining a professional attitude during interactions.
- Assist with inventory management, including stock counts and recording accurate product information.

**Qualifications and skills**:

- Valid driver's license, and willingness to drive in both urban and suburban deliveries.
- Previous qualifications of a C1 (7.5 Tonne) and forklift licence are advantageous.
- Prior experience in a yard or warehouse environment is preferred, but willingness to learn is more important.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact and build relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Knowledge of timber products and the construction industry is advantageous.

**Hours of work**:

- Monday to Friday: 07:00 - 17:00
- Every other Saturday: 08:00 - 13:00
