About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Assistant to join our dynamic team in Cambridge. This is an ideal opportunity for an individual to provide support to the day to day activities in a busy and supportive environment. Full training will be provided.

Core responsibilities include:

- Maintaining working levels of consumables and reagents in the labs
- Assist with material receipt, storage and disposal
- Prepare solutions, reagents and buffers
- Perform perpetual inventory counting of laboratory materials and effectively communicate discrepancies between physical counts and computer records
- Monitor the temperatures of cold storage and incubators; defrost freezers as necessary
- General housekeeping to maintain cleanliness and tidiness of laboratory area
- Following Standard Operating Procedures
- Work to the concepts and practices of Abzena’s lab health and safety policies

Your skills and experiences:

- A confident and mature approach
- Proven excellent organisational and time management skills
- High standard of numeracy and literacy
- Timely and accurate data entry skills, with a high level of attention to detail
- Good IT skills (proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook) with an aptitude to learn new software and systems
