**Pay Scale: Pay Scale NJC SO1. Term time only (TTO) - 35 hours per week.**

**Job Purpose**
- To play a key part in supporting the Ethos and Wellbeing team to universally promote and support student attendance and student and staff wellbeing across the school.
- To work closely with the Ethos and Wellbeing team and the Year Leaders to deliver accurate and timely monitoring of student attendance and punctuality data for all year groups in the school (including the sixth form) and to support the casework undertaken with students and families with attendance and punctuality issues.
- To support intervention processes for each Year group to improve attendance to school for students with known or emerging needs.
- To provide a rapid follow-up service to students who have not attended school in order to gather information and provide advice to support and promote better attendance to school.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Monitor student attendance through the school’s ICT package, including the day-to-day running and generation of reports.
- Administer the recording of student lateness to school and forward the information to

Senior Year Leaders / Year Leaders and the Leadership Team, and submit data for appropriate meetings and case conferences.
- To input all students arriving late onto the system. To maintain punctuality data for Senior
Year Leaders / Year Leaders and the Leadership Team.
- Alongside the Ethos and Wellbeing team, to contact parents / carers on first day of absence according to priority.
- To generate reports on attendance and absence data for selected groups and year groups as required (weekly, termly, annually).
- Send appropriate school standard letters, in accordance with the attendance policy.
- Compile and analyse statistics on attendance for Camden LEA and DfE.
- Attend multi-agency meetings where appropriate.
- To consult with outside agencies where appropriate and forward these referrals to the

Senior Year Leaders / Year Leaders or other relevant staff.
- To support the Ethos and Wellbeing team with their caseload of students with attendance / punctuality issues.
- To support students social and emotional support, and to forward information as appropriate and as required.
- To be involved as appropriate and as directed in the year 6-7 transfer process.
- To attend appropriate INSET and other training in relation to professional development.

**Communication**:

- Be a key point of contact for parent/carers in relation to attendance cases, being responsible for and dealing with issues when appropriate and referring to other pastoral staff for action.
- Support any parental meetings concerning attendance and punctuality when required to support Year Leaders.

**Evaluation**:

- Prepare and evaluate data as appropriate as requested by your line manager, by Year

Leaders and SLT
- Produce reports on levels of attendance and punctuality as required.

**Interacting with students, parents and staff**:

- Handle difficult situations and issues with sensitivity and calm ensuring you are always aware of the safeguarding of our students, data protection and the need for strict confidentiality at all times.

**Other Duties**:

- In the event of an emergency to adhere to the office evacuation procedures and to assist with an accurate roll call.
- To assist in the promotion of the school through the sensitive dealings with children, parents and visitors at all times.
- Together with your line manager be responsible for identifying and agreeing your personal development/training needs.
- Any other duties that may be required that are commensurate with the post at thai level, as directed by line manager.
