The Agriculture, Food and Drink Exports Team in Department for Business and Trade has a vacancy for an Export Lead. With the sector being one of the departmental priorities, it is an exciting time to join the team. You will lead the strategic development of UK export opportunities for two of our priority regions, Europe and the Middle East as well as helping to grow exports within the pivotal subsectors of Health and Wellbeing (including plant based and organic).

You will be managing relationships with both public and private sector-based organisations, as well as our overseas Posts and sector specialist to help deliver overseas trade promotion campaigns to help us reach our trillion-export target. At the same time, you will also work closely with trade policy colleagues, helping to deliver opportunities for the industry from Free Trade Agreements and new market access.

**Job description**:
Work on export promotion campaigns across key markets in the Middle East and Europe. This will involve developing market strategies and business plans as well as developing and helping to implement bespoke campaign-related activities within budget. This will entail developing and maintaining successful relationships with our overseas posts.

Work with the sector specialist and stakeholders across industry and government to develop and implement sector offers for health and wellbeing (plant based, vegan, vegetarian, organic and free-from) private label and confectionery and snacking.

Work with the team’s other export leads to further develop and deliver DBT’s Agri-Food Export support package, ensuring that companies are taking full advantage of the assistance offered.

Work closely with colleagues in trade policy and other government department such as Defra to ensure that industry are optimising opportunities from Free Trade Agreements and new market access.

Develop and sustain strong relationships with key industry partners and stakeholders, galvanising them to work in innovative ways for their industry.

Line management responsibility for an HEO and matrix management of two SEOs.

**Hybrid Working**

Please be aware that this role can only be worked from within the UK and not overseas.

Informal hybrid working arrangements will be available as agreed with the vacancy manager and in line with the requirements of the role.

Most DBT employees will be working a hybrid pattern, spending 2-3 days a week (pro rata) in an office, on average. If your office location is London, you will be eligible to receive London weighting.
