We’re looking for a dynamic, organised, vibrant communicator to join our team.

You’ll work closely with different stakeholders to raise the profile of our Housing Delivery Programme and its sales brand Shape Homes York, delivering exciting, joined-up marketing communications that assert and maintain brand identity.

Delivering a blend of communications and marketing techniques in York and beyond, you will shape the perception of our housing programme with residents, partners, stakeholders and within the sector.

You know how to target and grab the attention of the right audiences with the right content in order to share important information or to inspire action which support sales and marketing objectives.

Your bright ideas and energy will mean you learn fast, adapt quickly, working accurately to deadlines.

Working with council teams and partners at pace you’ll be part of a busy and supportive team which will encourage and further your can-do attitude and your comms flair.

You’ll build on our strong relationships with other organisations to maximise the reach and impact of our messaging. You’ll also work with contractors to ensure our exacting standards are met.

We expect a high level of written English, and we’d like applicants to have relevant experience in communications, editorial or marketing.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C2: Can express him/herself spontaneously at length with a natural conversational flow, avoiding or backtracking around any difficulty so smoothly that the person with whom they are conversing is hardly aware of it.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
