London, United Kingdom NIBC Full time

Summary:
To strengthen the team and grow the newly established London-based European Real Estate team, NIBC is looking for an Associate.

**Job Description**:
Real Estate
is one of the core activities of NIBC. Over the years, we have established a long-standing track record in this dynamic industry. NIBC is active in the origination, structuring, execution and monitoring of lending transactions in the real estate markets. The CRE team has expanded its financing activities to the UK two years ago with a focus on the Living sector such as student housing and build to rent. While active in the development and investment, our key clients include developers, private equity firms, asset managers and other institutional investors. Since launching in September 2022, the team has closed various deals including the development of the
- EQT Saturn BTR portfolio across Greater London
- ,
- a large-scale BTR scheme at Wembley Park London developed by Quintain
- and
- a landmark regional BTR scheme at Great Charles Street in Birmingham
- Last year, our team further expanded its financing offer across continental Europe into regions like Southern Europe, Nordics, Benelux, DACH and the UK, including Ireland. Notably, we financed three Greystar co-living schemes in Madrid in December 2023.
- To strengthen the team and grow the newly established London-based European Real Estate team (part of the overall NIBC CRE business), NIBC is looking for an Associate who will be actively involved in and jointly responsible for the finding and screening of new propositions, structuring & deal execution and portfolio management of existing exposures.
- What will you do?
- As an Associate you are a valuable member of the Real Estate franchise. You will be primarily responsible for end-to-end execution of new complex transactions and portfolio management activities. In addition, you will make meaningful contributions to the deal origination process (including market, peer, business, operational and structural analysis) and help grow and enhance NIBC’s presence within the sector. You will work in a small newly established team that has a clear vision to grow the business and find new clients. As an Associate you will assume responsibility for:

- End-to-end execution of new lending opportunities. This includes risk assessments, financial modelling, analysis and judgement of due diligence as well as legal documentation;
- Reviewing performance of existing clients and exposures (portfolio management);
- Assist senior peers in origination of new transactions;
- Prepare internal documents such as credit reviews, waiver/amendments and other ad hoc analysis, as required, in a timely and efficient manner;
- Working on the strategy of the business by researching new markets, speaking to different parties in the sector externally and internally and regularly presenting your findings;
- Developing appropriate financial solutions and assist in pitching to existing and prospective clients;
- Assess and negotiate complex legal documentation (LMA);
- Involvement and attendance at lender meetings, site visits and relevant conferences;
- Being an internal NIBC contact person by communicating with other divisions (i.e. operations, legal, compliance, KYC) while being an external contact person for (existing) clients.
- Close cooperation with other colleagues in the UK and the Netherlands, across all functions.

Knowledge and Skills
- Min.3 years relevant experience with a finance, business management, economics, law or engineering based degree and preferably a post-graduate degree or professional qualification;
- Relevant experience in the real estate or banking industry;
- Knowledge of financial and project documentation structures;
- Strong credit, numerical and analytical skills;
- A committed, dependable, self-starting and flexible team player;
- Excellent communicator and interpersonal skills;
- Good commercial skills and the ability to make difficult decisions;
- Good time management skills;
- High standards of written and verbal communication skills (English), additional language is a plus;
- NIBC values diversity and views it as a competitive advantage in the market. By having a workplace in which employees can be who they are, and where different views are respected, NIBC becomes stronger as an organisation. Diversity at NIBC comprises different gender, nationalities, ages, cultures, as well as social or personal difference
