Our well established, successful, and constantly developing client based in Stroud are currently looking for a Planner to join their friendly team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is a great opportunity to join a manufacturing company that has a low turnover of staff and who can offer excellent career progression if desired.

Reporting to the Materials Manager and working alongside the Purchasing supervisor, Raw Material Buyer and Shop Floor Supervisor, you will be responsible for all relevant Planning activities to support the team, ensuring customer satisfaction and time/budget constraints kept as priority.

**Responsibilities**
- Coordinate and execute planning and procurement activities.
- Plan using ERP system, ensuring capacity, customer expectations, and budgets are considered.
- Ensure work order dates align with MRP demand and update planning parameters.
- Work with wider team to ensure that orders are on schedule, including assisting with expediting or delaying shipments to meet production schedules if necessary.
- Check order acknowledgements for accuracy and quality standards.
- Liaise with material purchasing team regarding delivery changes.
- Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement.
- Provide a detailed plan and status of sales order backlog for product line. Identify and escalate any deviations needed.
- Responsible (along with colleagues in Departments) for the effective updating/upkeep of visual MRP system and Visual Boards for given product line responsibilities.

- Act as first point of contact for status of customer orders for designated product line.
- Work with the production and procurement team to prioritize work to fulfil the plan.
- Work closely with Project team & Senior Management to update latest information and highlight any issues.

**Key Attributes**
- Previous planning experience, ideally within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Previous use of one of ERP/MRP/MPS tools.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Ability to manage a busy and changing workload.

**Hours**: Monday - Thursday 8am - 4:30pm + early finish Fridays 8am - 2pm
