**VACANCY - CHEMICAL PLANT MANAGER**
This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative and proactive individual to take on a role within a successful chemical manufacturing Company, with over 60 years of chemical manufacturing heritage and an established reputation for excellence. The companyis focused on providing the best contract manufacturing and site services to customers in the agrochemical, fine and specialty chemical industries. Based in, Norfolk, they company is a leading large scale chemical company delivering customers’ needs utilisingits broad asset and technology base underpinned by its quality driven project management.
They currently have a full-time vacancy for a Chemical Plant Manager. Reporting to the Production Unit Leader, the job holder will be working within an Operations Plant Performance team and be required to interface directly with QSHE, Engineering, Commercial,and Logistics functions
**Qualifications / Experience**
At least a degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or closely related discipline.
Several years’ experience in an industrial chemical plant management role, or directly related equivalent
Experience in the technology, operation, and systems of industrial chemical manufacture.
Experience of chemical plant control systems is preferred.
Experience of new process industrialisation and chemical plant commissioning would be beneficial.
Experience of Lean/Six Sigma would be beneficial.
Demonstrable experience leading continuous improvement initiatives, and root cause analysis
Proven leadership skills with the ability to make decisions, and motivate and influence others
A positive attitude, be self-motivated with the ability to work effectively without close supervision
Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, and be driven to deliver high quality solutions to meet objectives
Good team working skills
A flexible approach to working hours
Experience of working on an upper tier COMAH site would be advantageous.
The main purpose of the role is to act as the owner of one or more manufacturing plants. This involves responsibility for managing, monitoring, and continuously improving upon manufacturing plant performance key standards including:
safety & environment,
cost & delivery on time,
plant reliability and capacity,
product and effluent quality,
raw material and energy/utility consumption,
plant cycle times,
operator training and utilisation,
This will require leading productive liaison with site support functions to ensure accurate communication and decision making to meet the process needs in line with business priorities. The job holder will also work closely with the shift supervision teamregarding operator resource requirements and will be responsible for agreeing operator training needs and competency.
This is a full-time role - routinely 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional 'out of hours’ contact to support the 24/7 operation of the plant
This role will also be required to fulfil a business emergency response leadership role (e.g. Duty Manager) on a rota basis as requested, and upon appropriate training.
