About the job
After variety in your working day? Do you want to make a real difference to our residents quality of life? We have an exciting opportunity to further your career with the Council, working for our residents and supporting the work of dedicated colleagues within the Environmental Protection Team.
You will support the technical assistants and Environmental Health Officers in their duties. Your role will include responsibility for ensuring the teams equipment is kept in good repair and in calibration, deploying monitoring and sampling equipment and retrieving data, witnessing complaints, evidence gathering and producing reports to assist with the investigation of pollution and enforcement action.
You will become an accredited sampler for Private Water and other statutory sampling and will develop a range of investigatory skills. You will also have a valuable input into our continuing digital journey.
We will support you to develop an understanding of the technical and legal aspects of the role and there will also be a need to work outside of normal office hours from time to time.
**Requirements**:
5 GCSEs at grade A-C (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
To be prepared and able to undertake formal training.
Excellent customer service skills
Confidence in dealing with the public and an eye for the important detail
