- **RAS**”) (which sets out UKEF's appetite tolerance etc for various areas of Financial Crime) through the provision of high-quality analysis of risks and issues, and timely and comprehensive advice to other UKEF Divisions on transactions, to avoid the Department supporting transactions which are unlawful or contrary to government policy, and to mitigate and manage the risk of financial loss and/or reputational damage associated with supporting transactions that may have been obtained corruptly or involve financial crime.**Job description**:
The purpose of this exciting and challenging role is to lead a small team who provide support to ensure that the organisation is aware of who it is doing business with as well as acting within its risk appetite. Financial Crime Due Diligence undertakes a key role in evaluating counterparties in the transactions through which the Department supports its customers.

The Head of Financial Crime Due Diligence is responsible for counterparty transactional due diligence matters and supporting the Department in managing financial crime due diligence and compliance risk the post holder will also be a member of the Department’s Senior Leadership Team.

**Person specification**:
Key duties and responsibilities include:

- Provide leadership to a team of 10 and directly line manage team managers.
- Responsible for the effective management of the financial crime due diligence budget (circa £350,000) and ensuring that value is received for expenditure upon financial crime due diligence services.
- Directly, or through the team, provide financial crime due diligence advice in support of the case decision making process. This will include ensuring financial crime due diligence standards are upheld and that the Department is acting within its risk appetites and complying with its policy, legal and cross government mandated obligations relevant to financial crime due diligence.
- To personally provide financial crime due diligence support on large or sensitive cases as required.
- Financial Crime Due Diligence may also be required to procure consultancy advice on matters ancillary to the primary function.
