As a Pre Assessment Coordinatorat our Nuffield Health Parkside Hospital, you'll be responsible for the booking and administrative needs of Pre assessment surgical and orthopaedic clients to Parkside Hospital. Liaise with the Orthopaedic Nurse Practitioner and Sister, consultants, patients, carers, operating theatre and admissions.

**As a **Pre Assessment Coordinator**, you will**:

- To deal with telephone calls from patients, confirming their pre-assessment appointment and to assist patients with any queries regarding their admissions to the Hospital
- Request old hospital notes from Medical Records, GP Surgeries, and Secretaries
- Make up and organise patient nursing notes in preparation for Pre assessment appointment and ward admission
- To ensure adequate documentation for in-patient records - that spelling of names and addresses is correct - whenever possible that all relevant financial information is obtained - and to enter all details onto the computer
- To check details on print-out letters to patients. To enclose appropriate forms requesting patients to complete and sign, together with pre assessment forms
- To work on pre assessment reception when based at Putney site
- To liaise effectively with Consultants and their secretaries, choose and book and Admissions Department in taking bookings, either over the telephone or when visiting offices personally
- To liaise effectively with all other clinical and non-clinical staff regarding pre-assessment related requests, issues etc
- To ensure Consultants instructions on making a booking are conveyed to the relevant Department
- To aid nursing staff in patient audit
- To liaise closely with the Accounts Department and the Director of Nursing and Clinical Services regarding all financial matters relating to patient admissions
- To effectively deal with any queries regarding surgery, transfer of patients, general advice and other enquiries in order to promote a good image of the Hospital’s willingness to assist in all matters, referring to the Director of Nursing and Pre assessment clinical nurse or sister in Charge when necessary
- To maintain a high public relations profile for the Hospital in the Department
- To carry out any other duties as requested by the Pre-Assessment Manager
