- **Security Systems Apprentice**
**Salary £17,500**
**Location: Selby**

Do you want to complete a work-based apprenticeship to develop the skills required to operate within a commercial business in a FTSE 250 company, that’s leading the way in sustainability, and has committed to being carbon negative by 2030?
Over the 2-year programme you’ll receive tailored training and support on soft and business-related skills, alongside developing commercial business awareness. You’ll receive support from our early careers team and your mentor, and you’ll develop a network of peers across the business.
We’ll give you the opportunity to learn, grow and take the first step into working life - how far you take it is up to you
**About the Role**
Day today you’ll develop your expertise in the disciplines of crisis management, business impact analysis, contingency design, plan implementation and programme validation. But you’ll also get to support the governance function to deliver programmes aimed at improving and enhancing the services Drax provides and how it provides them, for example to reduce risk, improve efficiency and move towards a sustainable delivery model for the organisation. A working knowledge of a variety of regulatory frameworks will need to be gained, for example Network of Information Systems (NIS), NPSA and GDPR.
**What we’re looking for **
You’ll have an interest in the security industry and have an enthusiasm to learn. Basic computer skills are essential as are excellent documentation skills, so you’ll have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
You’ll be a team player who’s able to build effective relationships. You’ll be self-motivated, flexible, and willing to learn, and you’ll also be conscientious with an eye for detail and concern for accuracy, demonstrating thoroughness and focus.
As you’ll be working on site in an operational environment a good attitude to safety for yourself and others is paramount. You’ll also need to be able to travel to remote sites as and when required,
To be eligible for the opportunity listed above, you will need at least GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at Grade C, 5 or above.
**About Drax**
Drax Group is at the forefront of renewable energy - we’re working exceptionally hard to enable a zero carbon, lower cost energy future which is changing the way energy is generated, supplied, and used.
Our world-leading ambitions are to be a global leader in carbon removals, to be a global leader in sustainable biomass pellets, to be a UK leader in dispatchable, renewable energy generation, and ultimately be carbon negative by 2030. No small task
We operate globally - four power generation sites in the UK, manufacturing facilities across the US and Canada, and supplying biomass customers across Europe and Asia.
We’re big on providing opportunities for growth - which is why we heavily invest in early careers. From work experience programmes to graduate schemes, developing future talent is hugely important to us, our apprenticeship opportunities will give you exposure to key areas of our business, developing your understanding of not only your specialist area, but of the wider renewable energy sector and its drive to tackle climate change head on.
**How do I apply?**
The next stage is an invitation to meet us for assessment and interview during June. This will give you an opportunity to learn more about the business, the programme and for us to get to know you across a range of different situations.
This programme will start September 2024.
