**Role Purpose**

The Finance and Business Support Supervisor will be responsible for supporting the Financial Director to deliver on the Company’s strategic ambitions and operations within the Finance and Business Support team.

You will have day-to-day responsibility for supervising the efficient and effective operations of the financial administration processes, weekly payroll, HR administration systems and other key business support functions. To achieve this, you will have responsibility for a small team of experienced Finance and Business Support Assistants and will receive direct support from the Financial Director.

You must be a strong communicator with the ability to develop processes, implement change and promote the Company’s values and culture.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Support and coordinate the Finance and Business Support team to deliver:

- Sales ledger processes
- Purchase ledger processes
- Weekly payroll processes
- HR administrative processes
- Process and reconcile bank account transactions
- Assist with training and development the Finance and Business Support team
- Assist the Financial Director with:

- Nominal ledger and journal postings
- Internal reports, including KPI reporting
- VAT and other external returns
- Set up and processing bank payments
- Budgeting/forecasting work
- Business support administrative duties - supporting the wider department with

key business administrative activities and cover where required
- Work with the team to document and improve departmental processes

and procedures
- Any other appropriate duties commensurate with the responsibilities of the role

**Knowledge, skills and experience**

Essential experience
- Practical experience/understanding of bookkeeping, accounts and financial systems
- Previous supervisory experience
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office suite, in particular MS Excel
- Support of Business Finance and/or Administration within an organisation

Desirable experience
- Part or fully qualified accountant
- Experience of supervising a payroll process
- Experience of Sage payroll
- Experience of Sage 200

Essential skills
- Strong numeracy skills, able to work with basic algebra and perform calculations
- Highly organised individual able to schedule and complete tasks
- Empathic communicator, able to see things from the other person's point of view and work well within a team
- Ability to train, motivate and develop teams
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to develop and improve business processes

Salary range: £30,900 - £36,050 pro rata (based on 36.25 hour week)

Hours of work: 25 hours per week (although may be flexible)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 25 per week

**Salary**: £30,900.00-£36,050.00 per year
