**The Role**

Our **Head of PE and Activities **will take the lead in developing the sports and activities provision for our students.

Year groups will generally have 2-3 timetabled PE lessons per week and a range of optional clubs, societies and activities in the afternoons and on Saturdays. The **Head of PE and Activities** will work closely with our **Super Curricular Manager** and with our **Head of Boarding** to organise and offer a suitable range of challenging and enjoyable sports and activities, as well as liaising with external providers and organisations for access to additional coaching, expertise and facilities.

There may be the possibility to develop the provision of academic PE in future years depending on students’ options.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- Teach and organise the teaching of PE and sports activities across all year groups;
- Contribute to the creation and use of sports equipment, resources and facilities, liaising with the Super Curricular Manager regarding the activities programme and use of facilities;
- Develop the provision of competitive sport including helping to facilitate individual sports access and coaching for individual students with particular sporting profiles;
- Contribute widely to the active programme of clubs, societies, sports and activities, suited to the needs of each year group;
- Identify new opportunities for the development of PE and Activities in the College;
- Promote health and fitness among our students, encouraging involvement and offering teaching of healthy lifestyles as part of our PSHE programme;
- Lead gap students, boarding assistants and other non-academic staff in the provision of sports coaching and the running of activities;
- Contribute to the provision of Saturday activities for boarders, including sports fixtures and activities.

**Responsibilities and reporting relationships**

Responsible to the Senior Leadership Team in matters pertaining to student development, welfare and the College’s strategic direction. Reporting directly to the Super Curricular Manager, keeping them informed of any significant issues relating to the Super Curriculum.

**Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Strong track record of building relationships and working alongside external providers in an educational setting.
- Excellent record as a teacher with evidence of ability to manage whole school strategic priorities.
- Experience of working in a boarding setting is desirable.
- Evidence of understanding the commercial realities of leading an international school in a competitive setting is desirable.
