Are you passionate about physical education and inspiring students to lead healthy, active lifestyles? We're seeking a versatile PE Teacher/Cover Supervisor to join our vibrant team at Brighton Aldridge Community Academy.

The postholders time will be divided equally between PE and general cover.


Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging PE lessons to students across various age groups and abilities.

Implement creative and inclusive teaching strategies to promote participation and skill development.

Provide cover supervision for absent teachers across different subjects when required.

Ensure the safety and well-being of students during PE sessions and cover periods.

Foster a positive and supportive learning environment conducive to student success.

Collaborate with colleagues to plan and assess PE curriculum and extracurricular activities.

Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour.

About BACA

Brighton Aldridge Community Academy (BACA) opened in September 2010, and a year later moved into its brand-new building, equipped with new sports, entrepreneurship and IT facilities, and a dedicated sixth form area.

BACA is in the unique position of having two higher-education establishments, Sussex and Brighton Universities, in its immediate proximity. This enables the academy to work closely with them, share their expertise, access their resources, and give students a taste of Higher Education.

If you are shortlisted for the position you are applying for, Aldridge Education will undertake online searches (including social media) in accordance with KCSIE 2023.

This role is considered exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020. Which means that when applying for certain jobs and activities certain spent convictions and cautions are ‘protected’, so they do not need to be disclosed to employers, and if they are disclosed, employers cannot take them into account. In addition to the above standard and enhanced DBS checks will now always show all unspent records, including youth conditional cautions, meaning some previously unrecorded details will now be disclosed.

Further information about filtering offences can be found in the DBS filtering guide. It is an offence to apply for the role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
