Are you an equipment calibration expert, looking for a new challenge in a growing global organisation?

NSF’s Oakdale site is the largest independent water fittings and materials testing laboratory in the UK. With over 75 years’ experience of water supply and distribution, NSF International tests a wide range of products which come into contact with water, from taps and pipes to washing machines and showers.

We are looking for a driven and experienced Calibration specialist to lead calibration at the site, and ensure that all testing and measuring equipment (over 800 items), is fit for purpose, calibrated and repaired when necessary.

Our equipment and machinery primarily focus on pressure, temperature, and flow, so if you have experience calibrating this type of machinery in either a manufacturing, testing, or other environments - we would love to hear from you

RESPONSIBILITIES

**Including**, but not limited to:

- Ensure that all calibrated laboratory equipment is calibrated to UKAS standards on time in coordination with the Facilities Operation Manager and Laboratory managers
- Coordinate with the laboratories to ensure that on time calibrations are planned into the work schedules accordingly
- Performing all activities and duties in accordance with the relevant requirements of ISO17025, ISO17065 and the NSF Wales Quality Management System Policies and Procedures
- Ensure a safe working practices are maintained at all times in line with NSF Wales procedures
- Sets up test equipment and conducts proof tests on performance and reliability of testing equipment
- Confers with Laboratory Manager’s, Laboratory supervisors, Facilities staff and other laboratory technical staff to assist with equipment on Calibration matters
- Performs preventative and corrective maintenance of test apparatus and peripheral equipment in line with Calibration requirements
- Modifies performance and operation of component parts and circuitry to specifications, using test equipment and precision instruments
- To assist and cooperate with other team members at all times
- To identify and suggest solutions for problems that may occur in Calibration of Test equipment
- Accurate completion of records in accordance with ISO 17025 and UKAS
- Development of calibration systems in line with corporate goals and UKAS requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
- An understanding and knowledge of the Calibration of test equipment and Calibration techniques
- Knowledge of uncertainty budgets
- Experience/knowledge of ISO9001 as a minimum, and preferably ISO17025, ISO17065
- Experience in equipment/machinery specialising in pressure, temperature, and flow would be beneficial
- An understanding of engineering drawings and principles
- Relevant Calibration or Engineering qualification
- Good standard of numeracy and literacy
- IT skills, including some familiarity with ‘Word’ and ‘Excel’
- Experience with asset management systems such as Qualer or related software packages would be beneficial
- Good practical and technical skills
- Good people skills, with an open communication style
- The ability to manage a varied workload
- An understanding of Health and Safety Legislation
