Sheffield, United Kingdom University of Sheffield Full time

Are you interested in working for a world top 100 University?

This is an exciting time to join us as a Student Recruitment Officer (PG) as we're currently working on changes to ensure that our student recruitment and marketing activities continue to meet the needs of our customers. The recruitment and selection process will be based on the job description detailed below but future changes may be made to this job description as we implement improvements in this area. Any changes would be communicated to employees at the earliest opportunity.

An opportunity has arisen to join the UK Student Recruitment team to support the University’s postgraduate student recruitment work.

As Student Recruitment Officer (PG) you will be responsible for planning and delivering designated postgraduate recruitment events and activities, both on and off campus, to meet the University’s UK Student Recruitment objectives.
The post holder will predominantly take responsibility for postgraduate taught and research recruitment within the UK. Under the guidance of the Student Recruitment Manager, you will oversee and contribute to the delivery of postgraduate recruitment activities and presentations at events both on and off-campus. These will also include supporting undergraduate recruitment activity by delivering presentations and workshops to schools and colleges, as well as representing the University at UCAS events, HE fairs, and postgraduate fairs.
You will also support other recruitment activities on campus and working with our Student ambassadors, assist with their training, deployment and helping to support their work at University-wide Open Days and other on-campus events.

You will be highly motivated with excellent communication skills, customer focus, commitment and flexibility are essential.

Previous relevant experience and highly developed IT skills, including the use of Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential. You’ll be expected to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal with internal and external enquiries at all levels. Strong organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to prioritise own workload and to work unsupervised.

As this role will involve some travel within the UK, it is essential that the post holder has a full UK driving licence and is willing to work some unsociable hours.

Student Recruitment, Marketing and Admissions (SRMA) is part of a wider grouping of professional services departments, called Academic Services. This structure offers opportunities for creative collaboration and shared development.

SRMA comprises the University’s professional services teams responsible for UK student recruitment and access activities, the admission of all students, and for providing support for recruitment activities throughout the University, in particular supporting academic departments and leading a joined up approach across the organisation.

We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.

We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
