**_Do you have a genuine interest in supporting people to rebuild their lives_** **_and the ability to empathise with others?_**

The Complex Needs Team is a small team of specialists who offer support and advice across the range of St Mungo’s projects focusing particularly on substance use, physical and mental health, wellbeing and end of life care. The team work to improve links with local partner agencies and thus improve the service options for St Mungo’s clients.

Much of the role is centred on offering support, guidance and advice on best practice to staff and staff teams in 1 to 1 and group sessions. This can take the form of training and coaching sessions; there will also be opportunities for targeted 1 to 1 complex client work and advocacy, where you can utilise your skills and experience to recognise difficult or challenging client situations, and use appropriate communication skills to influence and bring about positive change. Other key responsibilities will be:

- To work with identified complex clients in a time limited fashion in partnership with the keyworker to improve service response and client outcomes where possible.
- To identify, develop and maintain external relationships with statutory and non-statutory service providers to increase accessibility to support for residents with complex needs.

**About you**

We are looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and experienced individual with the skills and abilities to work in partnership with staff, clients, managers; and external partner agencies. You should have experience of working with people with substance misuse/alcohol misuse problems and/or mental health issues and have the confidence to prepare and deliver training and coaching sessions to staff.

As this is a peripatetic role you should have good organisation and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage your own time and workload. We will provide you with support and supervision, but you should have the ability to seek support and guidance from others when required.

You should be willing to travel to and from a range of different services and work in flexible ways adapting to different service needs and demands.
