London, United Kingdom Single Homeless Project Full time

**Are you ready to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those facing homelessness?**

**We believe that no one should be homeless in 2024 and with your help, we can end homelessness for hundreds of Londoners.**

This is an exciting time to join SHP’ Rough Sleeping Services as we recruit Project Workers to our new and flagship short term Rough Sleeper accommodation services, as we aim to support the strategic vision -- to make rough sleeping rare, brief, and non-recurrent.

Our short-stay rough sleepers accommodation services offer a safe space away from the streets, providing a trauma and psychologically informed environment. Our primary goal is to assess and support individuals, connecting them with relevant services, and tailoring a support and move-on offer that meets their unique needs. The services are specifically designed for those facing multiple disadvantages, such as homelessness, mental and physical health challenges, trauma, substance use, criminal justice involvement, and experiences of violence.

The services operate on a holistic multi-disciplinary model, acknowledging that homelessness is a systemic issue requiring collaboration among various agencies. Our commitment is to create a supportive environment that goes beyond temporary relief, fostering lasting positive change for those in need.

The roles are in out **Barnet **short-term service**,** which offer the following shift patterns - Monday to Friday, with alternating early (8am - 4pm) and evening shifts (2.30pm - 10.30pm). We consider bespoke and flexible working options, where this can be accommodated within service needs.

**About the role**:
As a Project Worker Complex Needs, your role involves providing creative and collaborative support to adults who have experienced homelessness and/or rough sleeping, focusing on strengths and empowerment. You will engage proactively with clients facing multiple disadvantages and living with complex needs, with the overarching goal to improve outcomes and foster positive move-on. Your responsibilities include ensuring that clients can access and sustain accommodation, engage with specialist support services for various needs (substance use, health, mental health, complex trauma, offending, street activity), access primary healthcare, improve well-being and recovery, pursue work, training, and other opportunities, build positive personal relationships, and actively participate in their community.

This is an exciting role, which has a direct impact to those in the community facing multiple disadvantages.

**About you**:

- Experience of working or supporting vulnerable people, rough sleepers or people with mental health, physical health or substance use support needs.
- A non-judgemental approach to working with people facing multi-disadvantages and the skill to promote a strengths-based approach to case work and person-centred engagement.
- Strong team-working and interpersonal skills, maintaining a collaborative approach to delivering service objectives.
- Strong time management skills, ability to manage a caseload of clients, work on own initiative, manage competing priorities and maintain high standards
