**Overall purpose of the position**:
To plan, manage, and deliver community and stakeholder engagement in Northumberland, in support of our client's operational onshore wind farm and battery storage project and their role as a large, low-carbon employer in north-east England.
**Responsibilities**:
- Building trusting relationships with local communities, supply chain, third sector organisations, and public sector with a focus on local opinion formers
- 'Ambassador' for our client and their projects in Northumberland
- Devising and delivering a communications activity plan
- Maintain up-to-date stakeholder database and stakeholder mapping
- Co-ordination and delivery of high quality copy and project collateral
- Management of project events (e.g. public exhibitions or open days)
**Work Tasks**:
- Engage with communities, local people, political and regional stakeholders in support of Project Teams
- Briefing local political stakeholders (Councillors, Parish Councils, MPs)
- Attending and presenting to Local Authority, Parish Council, environmental NGO, supply chain and other public forum
- Monitor regional stakeholders
- Regular stakeholder progress reports to Project Teams
- Supporting relationship building with community and regional stakeholders in relation to the community fund
- Maintaining regional stakeholder and supply chain databases
- Manage the distribution of project specific information on internal and external platforms and channels
- Copywriting, for example, project related newsletters, web based text and material, tweets, exhibition boards, etc
- In conjunction with Media Relations & Editorial, maintenance of all online material, functionality and website architecture
- Working closely with, and supporting delivery from, other communication functions such as public and regulatory affairs and media relations
- Co-ordinate the planning, set up and attendance of project-related public facing events
- Health & Safety risk assessments related to communications activity
**Education& training**
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, including written and spoken English.
- University degree or equivalent or significant comparable experience (5+ years) in communications of infrastructure projects
**Competence& Experience**Strong communication skills
Experience engaging with communities
Good local knowledge of and connections in Northumberland
Delivering stakeholder engagement or similar communications or consultation disciplines
Well organised, experienced in being part of projects
Knowledgeable and experienced in MS Office, especially MS Word and Excel
Full, clean driver's licence Personable, empathetic, flexible
Ability to work autonomously within a given framework
Desirable experience:
- Delivering stakeholder engagement on behalf of complex construction projects
Setting up, running and/or advising community investment funds
Enthusiastic use of social media
Experience of conducting Health & Safety Risk Assessments
Experience of working in or with energy sector in UK
Experience in a multi-disciplinary communications role
