This is an exciting opportunity to join DVSA in the role of Head of Estates. DVSA has a large network of estates, which will impact staff across all areas of the agency. The DVSA estate is a mixture of owned, leased and MOTO sites delivering driver and vehicles services, enforcement activity, traffic commissioner activity, and administrative offices.

DVSA’s estates are going through a period of change, and this is an opportunity for a qualified Chartered Surveyor to make an impact in a meaningful way, helping to ensure the continued safety of road users.

You will be managing a medium-sized team, overseeing Estate and Facilities Management, Site Rationalisation, Property Investment and the sustainability of our estates.

**Job description**:
You will:

- Deliver a fit for purpose property portfolio, ensuring value for money from the range and use of all property assets.
- Demonstrate leadership by providing influence, direction and guidance to staff to support the delivery of objectives. Establishes a strong direction and a persuasive future vision; managing and engaging with honesty and integrity, and upholding the reputation of the Agency, Department and Civil Service.
- Provide expert advice, support and challenge to DVSA managers and budget holders and to consultants and other parts of the business on estates and property issues.
- Manage capital, maintenance, rental and other property related budgets and balance resources to deliver value for money.
- Development, communication and promotion of DVSA’s corporate core purpose, vision, objectives and values.
