Purchasing Assistant

**Overview of Role**
Procurement sits centrally within the business and interacts with many different departments and remote sites. The team oversees the strategic side of developing and purchasing assets and services within the company. This role requires regular liaison with external suppliers, internal departments, and stakeholders. You will also support with the process of purchase orders on our inhouse procurement system.
**Key Accountabilities**
- Inputting of Purchase Orders accurately, on a timely basis, and in accordance with company policy.
- Support the Procurement Administrator with Processing Purchase orders accurately, on a timely basis, and in accordance with company policy
- Liaise with suppliers and yard staff to ensure a free flow of information about expected goods receipts
- Assist Procurement Manager in the production of Procurement statistics
- Assisting with the integrations of new internal systems
- Managing the purchasing of PPE and issuing to staff
**Key Skills**
- Data entry experience in a purchasing department
- Experience using purchase order software
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively, manage conflicting priorities and achieve deadlines.
- Good eye for detail, completing work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Able to work in a fast paced, changing environment taking commercially astute decisions.
- Good IT skills, competent with the use of internet, E-mail, and Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Good communication skills for client and senior interaction.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: £20,000.00-£23,000.00 per year
