Here at Nothing But Recruitment ,we are currently seeking passionate and dedicated Senior Residential Childcare Worker to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of the children in our care.

**Job Summary**:

- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the residential care practitioners, acting as a mentor and role model in providing high-quality care to children and young people.
- Assist in the development and implementation of care plans and support strategies, ensuring they are person-centered and tailored to the individual needs and goals of each child.
- Oversee the day-to-day care and activities within the home, ensuring that all aspects of care are delivered in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular observations and assessments of the children, documenting progress, significant incidents, and any changes in behavior or well-being.
- Collaborate with the Registered Manager and Assistant Manager to coordinate and facilitate team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities for the residential care practitioners.
- Foster a positive and therapeutic environment within the home, promoting a sense of belonging, inclusion, and emotional well-being for the children.
- Support and implement behaviour management strategies and therapeutic interventions, working closely with external professionals to meet the specific needs of the children.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures, risk assessments, and health and safety guidelines, conducting regular checks to maintain a safe and secure environment.
- Collaborate with external agencies, therapists, and professionals involved in the care and support of the children, promoting effective communication and coordination of services.
- Stay updated on best practices, research, and developments in the field of residential childcare, sharing knowledge and providing guidance to the residential care practitioners.
- Participate in the On-Call rota when required.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- **NVQ Diploma Level 3 in Residential Childcare (Essential)**:

- Extensive experience working with children and young people in a residential care or childcare setting.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to mentor, motivate, and support a team of residential care staff.
- Strong understanding of child development principles, attachment theory, and trauma-informed care approaches.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with children, colleagues, and external professionals.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and safeguarding procedures related to residential childcare.
- Ability to effectively manage crisis situations, resolve conflicts, and make sound decisions in high-pressure environments.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required in a residential care setting.
- **A valid driver's license.**

**Salary**: £33,415.00 per year

Supplemental pay types:

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Residential Childcare: 1 year (preferred)
- Support Environment: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
- level 3 residential childcare (required)

Work Location: In person
