Summary

We are seeking to enhance our school support team through the appointment of a Learning Mentor who will contribute to the pastoral care and academic support we provide for all our pupils. In the short term it is likely that a considerable proportion of this role will be based in our new primary provision, but the successful applicant must be able to work across the entire age range. The ability / willingness to support with administrative and reception duties will be an advantage.
The successful applicants will work collaboratively with our teachers and other support staff to ensure that the personal, social and learning needs of pupils, including those with special educational needs, are met. Our Learning Mentors will establish positive, supportive and constructive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, school staff and governors and the wider community, contributing ideas and strategies for the benefit of our pupils. They will assist with the planning, delivery and evaluation of the curriculum, ensuring that high-quality learning experiences are accessed by all.
As a Learning Mentor at Ribblesdale, you will:

- Plan and deliver learning activities for individuals and groups across the whole age range of the through-school (4-16), both within the classroom and as small group withdrawal sessions
- Plan and deliver a range of intervention strategies, some of which may take place before and after school and during pupils’ breaks and lunchtimes
- Provide 1:1 and small group coaching and mentoring sessions for vulnerable pupils and those experiencing barriers to learning, such as low attendance
- Engage in training to enable you to make optimal use of educational technology to support pupils’ learning
