**The Opportunity**

Reporting to the Head of HR, you will deliver a comprehensive and high-quality HR Service within both schools. You will develop effective and constructive working relationships with all staff in the delivery of tailored HR Services and proactively identifyand resolve people issues, whilst coaching and upskilling leaders.

In conjunction with the Head of HR, you will formulate and implement people and organisation strategies and plans, as well as play a key role in 'all Schools' HR projects or processes to drive people and organisational improvements such as recruitment, employeeengagement, safer recruitment, ED&I and or compensation and benefits.

**Key responsibilities**

The main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Ensure staff checks, compliance and all necessary right to work checks are completed in line legislative requirements.
- Manage all disciplinary, grievance and capability hearings and appeals, and relevant administration, and work with legal advisors and project manage case work up to and including tribunals.
- Advise and guide managers on issues of training and development and assist in evolving the process of staff performance management and professional development.
- Manage the process for internal and external recruitment; overseeing the drawing up job descriptions and adverts to interviews and assessment and contract administration for teaching and support staff
- Work with the Head or Deputy Head(s) to identify the talent and critical roles in their areas and devising actions plans to retain, develop and advance key staff
- Design and implement approaches to develop and nurture the positive aspects of the School's culture and workplace climate and contribute to updating policies, procedures and employment manuals to ensure they are fair and consistent and obtain approval asrequired

Essential:

- You will be of graduate calibre and a Member of Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development to at least Level 5, or with similar HR or legal qualifications
- You will have Business Partner experience providing a wide range of HR advice to a similar organisation
- Knowledge of employment law and current HR practices
- Ability to anticipate HR issues and identify solutions
- Sensitivity in dealing with confidential matters and information

Person Specification (including but not limited to):

- Negotiation skills and conflict management
- Have excellent communication and coaching skills, and a track record of building authentic, trust-based relationships at all levels to bring out the best in people whilst achieving the best outcomes for our staff and students
- Be comfortable with quickly and routinely alternating between strategic and operational levels, while thinking creatively to meet rapidly changing needs
- IT literate with HR systems user knowledge preferred
- Sympathetic to the needs of an independent school
