**Main purpose of post**

The Technology Business Unit operates to Design, Deliver, Run and Maintain the technology solutions and services required for the Council to process business and deliver services to the residents of Lambeth. All functions work collaboratively to deliver effective end to end solutions and services.

This role works within the Delivery function which is accountable for the planning and delivery of new and changing technology solutions and services, to the agreed time and budget parameters that effectively meet the objectives of agreed business cases, technical and business change utilising controlled and agile ways of working.

The Project Support Officers covers a diverse range of activities within the TS Transformation Programme to support the delivery of a project or programme’s objectives. The role is key to the effective and efficient operation of all projects, by supporting the project manager with day-to-day project management processes and the co-ordination of business management actions and activities.

An experienced, methodical, and structured project co-coordinator, able to engage with a diverse group of individuals at all levels, who will add value to the operational effectiveness of the team. This role will offer the opportunity to develop by building knowledge of the project management function and evidencing a curious and innovative approach in supporting others.

**Key Unit Accountabilities**

NOTE: When setting accountabilities, no minimum or maximum number has been prescribed. The best practice and recommendation are that only accountabilities are set specific to the role and without duplication.

1. Support the project teams by developing and maintaining appropriate systems to ensure effective planning and scheduling of projects.

2. Assisting the project teams in maintaining project controls and responsible for producing project reports in a timely manner to enable adequate and regular monitoring of project progress.

3. Responsible for project file management using robust version control and organising project boards and meetings, together with providing support to ensure efficient operation of projects day to day.

4. Responsible for being a main point of contact for project responses to external requests to ensure able to provide up to date information or manage enquiries effectively whilst engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.

5. Supports the teams by monitoring project spend and contributing to the compilation of budget updates whilst also ensuring the update of all project documentation and clearly documenting decisions/actions arising from project meetings.

6. Supports the team by sharing any insights or escalating issues to ensure Projects

Managers are kept up to date. Responsible for managing the projects’ risk and issue logs, helping to identify any on-going risks/issues, ensuring appropriate escalation, and tracking their progress to ensure resolution.

Good interpersonal skills with the ability to assist in influencing, persuading, and negotiating with stakeholders.

Good written, verbal communication and presentation skills

Good customer service skills

Good experience of project support within a large and complex Technology Portfolio either in the Public Sector or in the Private Sector with demonstrable understanding of the Public Sector environment.

A track record of working within effective teams delivering high quality services that have been proved successful in meeting complex business requirements and in enabling standardisation, simplification, sharing and re-use.

Demonstrate understanding of and be able to operate to the P3M3 Model

Educated to GCSE level or equivalent Accredited to P30 Foundation
