We are looking for a highly motivated, professional and well organised individual who has the required skills and knowledge to lead our non-medical undergraduate education, ensuring that the quality of our learning environments are suitable for students to undertake their practice placements and become part of our future workforce. The post holder will lead on nursing, midwifery and ODP student education and will support the AHP practice education facilitators with the quality monitoring of all other AHP student education environments.

Developing and maintaining high quality education, learning and development is one of our key priorities and the practice education team play a key role in ensuring that these standards are met. The post holder will also require strong effective communication and interpersonal skills, experience of line managing staff and a drive for innovation and improvement.

- The post holder will support the Trust in meeting its responsibilities in relation to non-medical pre-registration student placements by supporting the development of clinical learning environments
- The post holder will lead on the delivery of specified clinical and non-clinical education.
- The post holder will contribute to other educational activity as appropriate.
- The post holder will contribute to the Trusts completion of the HEE National education contract annual self-assessment document.
- The post holder will work in collaboration with the other lead practice education facilitators

- Lead on the development, organisation and governance of practice learning for non-medical pre-registration students within DCHFT
- In partnership with education providers provide support and contribute to the development of educators/supervisors/assessors.
- Manage and maintain a non-medical assessor database that monitors compliance in line with regulatory body requirements and Health Education England expectations.
- In partnership with education providers ensure that all non-medical pre-registration learning environments have been audited and quality assured and that action plans are in place as appropriate.
- Develop the quality & quantity of pre-registration healthcare placements, assisting trust staff to ensure that professional body requirements are met.
- Lead, advise and support practice and university staff in placement quality assurance processes.
- Participate in investigations where students report poor practice in the learning environment and ensure that concerns are addressed by the trust and its partners where appropriate.
- Liaise with practice areas and the universities to ensure that placements are allocated in a timely and equitable manner, meeting local and professional body standards
- Work in partnership with education providers to improve and develop policies and processes that support practice learning.
- Work in partnership with the universities to ensure that graduates are fit for purpose, by ongoing liaison, curriculum reviews and projects.
- Provide timely and accurate reports to internal and external key stakeholders.
- Maximise the use of appropriate placements within the organisation and its partners; and to establish areas that are under utilised or not used and influence, negotiate and develop action plans to optimise the capacity of the learning environments.
- Set up new placement/practice experiences. Work closely with the university practice placement units to ensure that trust learning environments are allocated and are congruent with the learning outcomes of the curriculum and level of student.
- Produce quarterly quality monitoring reports and other reports/information as required by HEE and the trust.
- To establish and facilitate effective communication and consultation networks with staff supporting learning in practice across the trust, professions, and partner organisations.
