We are looking for an experienced Media Relations Officer to create imaginative, creative, and ambitious media and communications campaigns that support the activity of the RSC and tell the broad story of the Company, and positively develop its reputation. It is an amazing time to join the RSC, with an ambitious and wide-ranging new programme of work and an inspiring new senior leadership team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an innovative, confident self-starter looking for the next step in their media relations career.

Based within a small, hardworking, supportive team and in a fast-paced environment, this role allows you to build relationships across the organisation and with a wide range of external media. You would be working on multiple projects and a mix of campaigns, leading on some and supporting on others.

Reporting to the Head of Media Relations, some of the main activities and responsibilities include (see the job description and person specification for the comprehensive list):

- Developing and delivering imaginative, creative and ambitious media campaigns to promote a range of RSC activity including show promotion
- Researching and writing dynamic press releases that promote the work of the RSC
- Commissioning and creating brilliant supporting media assets
- Ensuring relevant stories are placed across all RSC channels
- Setting up and managing media events
- Preparing briefing materials and supporting colleagues who are taking part in media interviews

To be suitable for this role, you must have:

- Proven success of working on show promotion and other media campaigns in a creative or theatre environment
- An excellent understanding of the media environment
- A successful track record in pitching appropriate stories to a wide range of media, including national media
- Experience of developing briefs and working with photographers, videographers, and different types of media
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- The ability to remain calm and make informed decisions quickly
- A background in Arts publicity is advantageous
