As an **Assistant Petition Advisor at HS2 **you will support Provide administrative support to the Petition Managers and their team ensuring smooth running of the Petition Management team. The Petition Management team is responsible for the process of engagement, negotiation, and resolution of petitions from those affected by the Bill to the time and cost targets set by Parliament.

**About the role**:

- To support the Petition Manager, Senior Petition Manager and other staff in all tasks.
- To produce briefing material for internal and external meetings, attending internal and external meetings, taking meeting notes and tracking actions.
- To maintain a filing system, retrieving documents and reference materials, conducting research, creating spreadsheets and records of engagement.
- To confirm and coordinate extensive travel arrangements.
- To liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- To provide secretariat services to specific meetings - coordinating papers with the chair, taking minutes and coordinating actions arising out of the meeting.
- Other ad hoc administrative duties including diary management; and
- Actively promote and embed Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work, and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies, and procedures on EDI.

**Skills**:

- Organisational skills - including the ability to plan workload but also meetings, travel and accommodation for team members.
- Prioritisation skills - including ensuring that tasks are prioritised and completed appropriately; and
- Flexibility - including the ability to manage changing requirements to suit business needs.

**Knowledge**:

- Understanding of the advanced use of all Microsoft office programs, including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook etc.

**Type of experience**:

- Experience of using Microsoft office programmes including Microsoft Teams; and
- Experience of providing minutes and coordinating minutes. The post-holder is expected to behave at all times in a manner consistent with the HS2 values of Safety, Leadership, Integrity and Respect
