**Marketing Events & School Liaison Officer**

**Salary**: £29,417 - £31,215pa inclusive

**Hours**: 36 hours per week

**Location**: This post will initially be based at the Main Campus, Isleworth

**The purpose of this post**: is to proactively promote the college and student successes through a range of innovative promotional activities and events, using a variety of media channels **to help boost student recruitment at the College**. The post-holder will work with staff, students and stakeholders to position the college as an exciting and vibrant place to study. **They will be the one of the key contacts the College for external stakeholders in**

**local boroughs and across London.**

**The main duties and responsibilities are to**:
1. Develop and lead on a calendar of events, featuring recruitment events, such as open days, and external events and outreach, with schools and community organisations, and lead on delivery and promotion of this across our channels.

2. Develop strong internal and external relationships which extend to schools and community groups across the London Borough of Hounslow and wider West London area.

3. Lead on planning and attending all outreach events and open days at the College, including school outreach activities, awards, taster days, tours and other recruitment events, and provide resources and staffing where necessary, as well as co-ordinating logistics, Health & Safety etc.

4. Work with students, staff and College managers to plan, organise and attend college open days, tours, taster days, award ceremonies, “keep warm” activities and other events.

5. Track, evaluate and monitor all events and outreach activities, and report this to Head of

Marketing regularly.

6. Work with the Graphic Designer to lead, create and distribute resources and materials to be used at all student recruitment events, including presentations, leaflets, course guides, and make sure all print and issue deadlines are met.

7. Be responsible for the creation and delivery of all outreach activities, including assemblies and careers fairs, and reporting and providing recommendations for improvement to Head of Marketing.

8. Attend school and external events, giving presentations/talks/advice as required.

9. Be constantly on the look-out for new ways to engage with prospective students and our wider audiences, particularly through regular and incisive environment scanning and competitor analysis, as well as collating case studies of current students to be used in all marketing materials.

10. Develop and implement a recruitment and engagement strategy to increase the number of college alumni.

11. Promote a positive image of the college when speaking to students, employers and professional bodies.

13. Attend college events to create engaging stories and capture strong photographic images for press releases, website, social media, print materials and other marketing materials for both our internal and external audiences.

14. Provide the Head of Marketing with regular, detailed activity reports, including key metrics and performance measures, focusing on all school liaison activities, open days, and providing other feedback where required.

15. Support the Marketing team in other activities where required.

16. Evening and occasional weekend work as required.

Person Specification
1. Educated to degree level (essential).

2. Marketing, Journalism or PR qualification (not essential).

3. Relevant experience working in a marketing, events or PR role.

4. Experience of successfully organising high profile events, demonstrating good organisational and administrative skills.

6. Excellent written communication skills with the ability to write creative, clear, accurate and succinct copy that gets results.

7. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and with different people, both internal and external to the college. i.e. students, school students, employers, parents, college staff, management, the media and VIPs.

8. Ability to confidently speak publicly to students, parents and teachers, and give presentations and talks to groups of 200+ people.

9. Ability to prioritise a heavy and varied workload and meet tight deadlines whilst maintaining a professional work ethic and high quality standards.

10. Ability to take high quality digital photographs with an eye for detail and design, demonstrating that a good picture can tell a thousand words.

11. To be a proactive and an enthusiastic self-starter with lots of energy, confidence and ideas.

12. Demonstrate good teamwork skills.

13. Be able to attend evening and weekend events (with time off in lieu).
