Then this is the opportunity for you A highly successful market leading business are looking for a Senior Category Specialist to join their team.

**The Role**
- Own and implement the category business plans in conjunction with the Category Manager ensuring delivery of the P+L in line with the company’s strategic objectives
- Develop & maintain a sound working knowledge of the market and competitors
- Develop strong relationships with key customers to ensure that their needs are understood, identifying and prioritising the best opportunities and adapting strategy where needed to ensure we can continue to meet those needs
- Develop & maintain strategic partnerships with key manufacturers and suppliers to deliver the category plan providing innovation & differentiation for our customers
- Plan deadlines and manage the delivery of all product offers for tenders in conjunction with the Sales Team to agreed deadlines. Working closely with Marketing, ensure that all marketing activity is planned and briefed to deadlines
- Coordinate the Category Team to provide monthly reports analysing performance against targets and KPI’s and summarise performance for the Category Manager. Ensure corrective actions are put in place where appropriate.
- Attend relevant trade shows where necessary to identify new product and sourcing opportunities
- Work closely with the Buying department sharing information and knowledge and developing new opportunities collaboratively
- Deputise for the Category Manager as required to ensure that the Category Team are represented as appropriate
- Previous experience working as a Category Specialist, Category Manager, Category Buyer and Category Management is essential for the role
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Excellent communicator (written & verbal)
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills
- Highly customer focussed
- Capable of working in a team environment, collaborating with others to meet customers needs whilst achieving targets
- Computer literate (Excel, Power Point, Word)
- Excellent analytical skills
- Commercially minded relationship builder
- Highly motivated, results oriented individual
- Ability to travel in UK and oversees - hold full UK Driving License

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
