The ASB and Estates Team provides a multi-agency human and kind approach to managing mid to high level community safety, safeguarding and ASB cases within the district. The estates team ensures our communities are places where people want to live, maximising safety, minimising risk and disorder through a programme of regular inspections, responding to hazards and liaising with contractors to ensure our estates safe.

The Housing landscape has changed for the better focussing on sustaining tenancies. We are looking to recruit a dynamic proven leader with a forward thinking robust, human and kind approach to implement the changes necessary to drive the service forward in meeting the expectations of the housing regulator and all stakeholders.

The Senior Housing Officer will manage the work of a dedicated team of officers responsible for the delivery of Dover District Council’s housing management service, ensuring that at all times - high quality, customer focused services are delivered. The role will entail keeping up to date with changes to relevant policy, regulation and legislation and that operational procedures are produced and maintained, arranging staff training where required.

The Senior Housing Officer role would be expected to proactively engage local communities, key stakeholders and partners to promote multiagency working in the delivery and further development of services in the local area.

**What are we looking for?**
- Good understanding of housing and tenancy law;
- A minimum of 3 years, housing management experience;
- Educated to GCSE Level Grade A-C or Level 4-9 or equivalent qualification;
- Experience of line management of staff;
- Holds or willing to study towards a CIH level 4 Qualification;
- Excellent leadership qualities including the ability to motivate and coach staff;
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload by effective time management;
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to persuade and influence others;
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage own workload;
- Excellent IT skills including Word, and Excel;
- Good negotiation skills;
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines;
- An ability to communicate clearly and effectively both in written and verbal form adapting style and approach to meet the needs of the target audience.
