An exciting opportunity has opened within the Integrated Community Paediatric Services (ICPS) for a Medical Referrals Coordinator, Band 4. We are a multi-disciplinary team based at Child Development Centre, Bury St Edmunds, IP33 3ND.

The Medical Referrals Coordinator provides an effective and efficient administrative and secretarial service for the Community Paediatric Medical team, with particular responsibility for all medical referrals, ensuring they are prepared for triage at weekly meetings and dealing appropriately with the outcomes of the meetings. They support the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Pathway, preparing the ASD meetings, updating information accordingly and distributing outcomes. They ensure that information is available to clinicians and support staff to enable them to comply with Referral-To-Treatment (RTT) performance requirements.

**Administration**:
Be main point of contact for all paediatric medical referrals.

Prepare all new referrals for weekly referrals meeting, downloading, printing and clarifying any anomalies with the Care Co-ordination Centre staff.

Attend weekly paediatric referral meetings, taking minutes and recording outcomes on SystmOne.

Following paediatric referral meetings, type letters to referrers and parents, including ASD pathway correspondence

Ensure any necessary amendments to RTT clock starts are made to accurately reflect waiting times.

Monitor waiting lists and caseloads to ensure children are seen within appropriate timescales, in accordance with Department for Health legislation. Chase up any missing information in preparation for the referrals meeting.

Manage referrals to School-Aged Autism process for relevant area of the county, monitoring waiting times. Request and collate all relevant information from schools, parents, Speech and Language Therapy, as well as other relevant parties for monthly meetings.

Complete master ASD spreadsheet to ensure every child discussed at ASD meetings is recorded and information updated.

Prepare monthly Autism Referral Meetings, sending meeting information to all the clinical parties and secretaries.

Attend monthly Autism Referral Meetings to update on status of referrals and other information required by clinical staff. Take minutes, and update information to provide outcomes and type all correspondence relating to these meetings

**Secretarial**:
Deal with incoming correspondence and telephone enquiries from parents, carers and clinical professionals using initiative on a daily basis. You will be dealing with emotional and highly sensitive situations, with full regard for Safeguarding and data protection.

Using own judgement, compose and type letters on behalf of Consultants to parents and other professionals regarding outcomes of meetings.
