The Breeding Dog Advisor
- Brood helps people with sight loss to live the life they choose by managing the Breeding dog scheme, this includes the recruitment, assessment, selection, training and line management of volunteer breeding dog holders to enable future guide dogs to be bred.

For this role you’ll be working 21 hours per week, worked between Monday and Friday. Your nominated office will be the National Centre with a home-start arrangement and travel within the region.

**Essential**
- Canine training/behaviour and/or health and welfare qualification.
- Current valid EU Driving licence.
3 GCSE O’ levels or the equivalent - including Math’s /English.
- Previous experience of working directly with dogs/puppies which may include whelping, training, supervision, care and welfare.
- Awareness of the core principles of animal care and behaviour.
- Theoretical knowledge of female canine anatomy and reproduction.
Knowledge of dog behaviour and language.
- Ability to deal with various types of people, from Directors to Volunteers.
Excellent data management, planning and organising skills.

**Desirable**
- Guide Dogs DC&W /GDT qualification.
Accredited learning in the areas of animal welfare and behaviour.
- Previous experience in a teaching or mentoring role.
- Knowledge of training and behaviour techniques suitable for guide dog training.
Understanding of Guide Dogs Breeding Code of Ethics.
