**Responsibilities**:
The placing of purchase orders as recommended by ERP system, to ensure the timely arrival of all raw materials, components and bought in sub-assemblies to meet the requirements of the various production departments. Order placement must consider the ordering policies as directed by the Purchasing Department, and inventory practices.
Ensure that orders for items requiring International export control procedures, e.g. ITAR, are correctly placed to ensure that the company do not contravene any international legislation.
The weekly management of the open purchase order book, to ensure ordered items arrive in accordance with the required dates as specified by the ERP system. This includes advising colleagues in the Supply Chain Department of any variations to the delivery requirements and escalating any issues having an adverse impact on the weekly Production Plan.
Carrying out ERP system interrogation to ensure that the current material forecast matches the production output expectations and communicate any discrepancies to the relevant planner for review.
Ensure any order acknowledgements received for e2v purchase orders fully comply with the Company and purchase order requirements, and dates are monitored for forecast accuracy.
Monitoring of Urgent Issues and Critical Materials to ensure Purchasing Department and maintaining the correct priorities.
Regularly review static data for purchased items to monitor replenishment criteria including:
- Replenishment method and frequency PIR and lead-times
Assisting Logistics in the resolution of any issues arising from the delivery of items from vendors, this includes quantity differences, quality issues and paperwork issues.
Liaison with Accounts Payable to resolve any issues affecting the timely submission for payment of vendor invoices.
The monitoring and publication of various statistical data that forms part of the Supply Chain Departments KPI measurements.
Qualifications:
Experience within a purchasing environment, in electronic or high precision manufacturing industry.
Familiar with ERP systems preferably SAP (HANA) and competent user of Microsoft Office.
Must be able to communicate at all levels both written and orally.
Used to working to deadlines and able to prioritise workload when under pressure.
Preferably have experience of JIT, VMI, Kanban and vendor scheduling in a vendor supply or manufacturing environment.
Have experience in the manufacturing sector.
Must be able to sustain supplier relationships though unstable material forecasts.
A CIPS qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
