An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic, dynamic and committed qualified mental health nurse to work in the Psychiatric liaison team based at NSECH hospital at Cramlington.
We are seeking to appoint highly motivated Band 6 staff within the adult psychiatry pathway to provide mental health assessments, risk assessment and treatment for patients who are either in the emergency department or wards.
This is an interesting and varied role, working in fast-paced environments with acute colleagues, and other multidisciplinary teams.
We have a supportive MDT each day with psychiatrists, psychologist, pharmacy, and support worker staff and feedback assessments and liaison interventions.
Providing training and education to acute staff.
You will be responsible for undertaking timely biopsychosocial assessment, delivering brief interventions, liaising with other services and offering the acute trust staff expert advice, as well as giving ongoing support and treatment to patients, as required.
When patients remain in the acute hospital for medical treatment, we provide liaison interventions which may include brief psychological interventions.
Liaising with professional's involved in the person's care including family and carers, acute care staff, social care and other CNTW services.
We work very close with our acute colleagues including specialities such emergency department, medical admissions, alcohol specialist nurses and safeguarding team.
We have a fantastic Clinical Reference Group for all CNTW Liaison Teams with bi weekly teaching, dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist for adult pathway, Clinical Nurse Specialist and Clinical Leadership.
The service is 24/7, there is an expectation that the successful person will work shifts/bank holidays/nightshifts.
