Retail Store Supervisor

**KEY DUTIES**:

- Collaborate with store supervisors to lead the retail side of the business
- Develop strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales, increase profitability, and grow the existing customer base.
- Maintain high store standards and conditions and foster a positive environment.
- Ensure customer needs are met, complaints are resolved and service is quick and efficient.
- Ensure all products and displays are merchandised effectively to maximise sales and profitability.
- Forecast demand and prepare accordingly; stock levels and staffing needs
- Manage stock levels to minimise loss of perishable goods; rotating stock to sell products according to expiry date and reducing stock accordingly to maximise profit and minimise loss
- Maintain the stability and reputation of the stores by complying with legal and Health and Safety requirements
- Be a visible presence across the stores, talking to colleagues and customers
- Maintain awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring what local competitors are doing
- Manage store inventory according to demand and use commercial awareness to forecast the peaks and troughs
- Assist in the generation of new business and seeking new opportunities within the local community

**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE**:

- Minimum of 2 years’ experience leading and developing a team in a retail environment
- Experience working with perishable goods including meats and vegetables is desirable essential
- Be able to demonstrate your experience of setting targets and controlling costs to boost growth
- Be able to demonstrate strong networking skills and the ability to establish good working relationships
- Proven achievement of KPI results in a previous role including profits, stock management, sales growth and people development
- Strong business acumen and commercial awareness of the retail industry
- Confident in gathering and analysing data such as customer purchasing trends to make business decisions
- A great leader who takes people with them, developing talent and overseeing the overall management of the people function within the store
- Excellent time-management, delegation, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Competent in the use of IT systems

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From £11.00 per hour

**Education**:

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Retail sales: 1 year (required)
- Supervising experience: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
- Retail management: 1 year (required)
- Management: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
