**What are we looking for**
We have an opportunity for a Material Planner. Reporting to the Master Production Scheduler the role is responsible for ensuring the smooth/accurate demand planning of material to support production and the production planners. The material planning team will use detailed information from the company systems to generate a workable supplier schedule and measure performance against this schedule and record deviations accurately. It will involve communication with various departments/stakeholders and will ensure a fit for purpose plan in support of our production team.
**Responsibilities**
- Before SOP, during the project phase
- After creation of open orders and or scheduling agreements by the PM or buyer confirm with supplier's orders have been received and agree a delivery plan
- Quarterly,
- Calculate material requirements (MRP) from agreed Sales, Inventory & Operation Plan (SI&OP)
- Communicate with buyers for forecasts to suppliers / check that they have available capacity to meet demand
- Monthly,
- Plan to meet forecasted customer demands
- Analyse customer medium term releases, identify the potential impacts on suppliers
- Calculate material requirements through the MRP process based on the MPS (Master Production Schedule) plan
- Communicate updated delivery schedules to suppliers
- Review and adjust, when needed, the MRP requirements in Dynamics
- Weekly / Daily,
- Analyse customers short term releases
- Follow-up delivery execution with suppliers. Escalate issues to line manager and to the purchasing organisation
- Monitor communication with suppliers and activate contingency plans when needed
- Participate in related production/material planning meetings
- Participate in improvement activities / kaizen workshops
- Create PFEP
- Ensure that safety polices are understood and respected within your area of responsibility.
**About You**
**Knowledge and Experience**
Good level of Maths / English
Advanced computer skills
MRP/ERP
Previous planning experience: preferably from a fast-moving production environment
A good awareness of document control and organisational skills
Experience within a manufacturing environment
Experience of a project environment would be beneficial but not essential
SAP/D365 Dynamics preferable
**Skills and Abilities**
Good time keeping and time management
Able to communicate at various levels
Stakeholder awareness
Work as part of a team or independently
