Male or Female Personal Assistant/support Worker

Male OR Female Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker required to assist a loving and happy 13-year-old boy with a physical and learning disabilities living with his family in the Balloch, Cumbernauld area.

You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance primarily within their home and local area including attending to personal care and participation in some social and mild physical activities including swimming.

Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:

- Attending to personal care needs in the morning (showering, assistance in dressing for school including changing of continence aids)
- Administering oral medication (liquid preparation)
- Preparing breakfast and snacks
- Assisting with participation in some physical/social activities including swimming, walking, playing games.

Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage individual to be involved in activities suited to their needs.

The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role.

Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Favourite activities are swimming, PlayStation, board games, sensory experiences and socialising.

Pets in the household - you must be comfortable working with a dog (labradoodle) in the home.

**Some experience is highly desirable and specific training will be provided although nothing complex, some physical ability required to help with mobility.**

**Hours of Work (with a degree of flexibility)**

Recruiting for one position.

Guaranteed permanent position of 9 hours per week.

**Days and times (approx. and may be adapted)**:
Weekday mornings 4 days per week pre-school 06:50am - 08:00am

Weekday after School Tuesday and Thursday 15:15pm - 17:00pm

Occasional weekends and evenings may be required - to be discussed at interview.

**Hourly rate**:
£12 per hour

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 9 per week

Day range:

- Weekends only
