**Head of Operations**
We are looking for a new Head of Operations to join our Crewe site. Reporting into the Manufacturing Director you will be responsible for 4 direct reports and circa 100 employees (direct operational employees and support staff). You will also act as the sitelead for Health and Safety for the Crewe site.
**Head of Operations Responsibilities**:
You will be responsible for leading the Crewe Service Centre site team to deliver the site business results (safety, delivery, cost and quality) and exceed our customer’s expectations. You will be expected to establish and implement plans and strategies toimprove and develop the facility and processes to realise the business growth plans (5 year corporate plan).
You will be expected to engage and motivate the team to deliver step change improvements driving cultural and business change to achieve the growth plans and lead and drive an environment of continuous improvement utilising the Unipart Way methodologies.
You will work closely with other business stakeholders (Sales and Engineering) to explore and implement growth opportunities working within a matrix organisation structure.
**Head of Operations Requirements**:
**Essential**:

- Minimum HND level (or equivalent) in Engineering / Manufacturing discipline
- Experience operating in a senior leadership role in a manufacturing / engineering led business, (ideally in a safety critical industry e.g., rail or aerospace)
- Previously held a senior position with responsibilities for creating strategy / vision, setting objectives, delivery of plans, forecasting, budgeting and decision making and leading multi-disciplined teams to deliver to KPI’s and exceed customer expectations.
- Exposure to and understanding of design for manufacture and associated manufacturing processes (electrical and mechanical).
- Excellent proven leadership skills. Ability to motivate, inspire and develop a team to deliver.
- Experience in driving business and cultural change and developing and structuring a team.
- Experience working within a functional matrix organisation.
- Experience delivering proactive leadership to drive a culture of behavioural safety and quality
- Strong influencer and excellent negotiating skills.
- Proven project management skills.
- Sound commercial acumen and financial understanding.
- Solid analytical skills with logical approach to problem solving.
- Tenacious with a desire to succeed and results orientated

**Desirable**:

- H&S qualification (highly desirable)
- A working knowledge of SAP
- Appreciation of lean manufacturing tools and techniques is highly desirable
