**In your role as Alternative Operations Associate you will make a meaningful and valued contribution from the outset. This role will provide a great opportunity to make a meaningful and valued contribution from the outset.**

**This role will provide a great opportunity to be responsible for providing exposure to our end-to-end processes which support both existing and new alternative assets, working closely with the front office team and other support areas.**
***
**This role sits in the Alternative Operations Team which oversees the end to end of USS’s Alternative Asset operational processes.**

**The team’s objective is to provide support for both existing assets and new deals, originated by the Private Markets Group to onboard complex investment deals/structures and facilitate their integration into USS’s operational environment.**

**What you will be doing**

***

**As a trusted part of the Operations you will**:
***
- **Work closely with the Private Market deal teams, understanding the operational implications of a deal (accounting considerations, cash flows, valuations, and structuring considerations where applicable) - assisting in the implementation of new or existing operating models****:

- **Work with external third-party providers, whilst coordinating with stakeholders internally, to ensure any new service provisions with a third party meets the associated deal requirements****:

- **Build a strong relationship across the internal supply chain from initiation to delivery with all areas****:

- **Complete cash and stock reconciliations daily and escalate as appropriate****:

- **Liaison with the Public markets funding function***

**About you**

**To be successful in the role you will have**:

- **An accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)****:

- **Post qualification experience**:

- **A knowledge of multiple private market asset classes would be preferred (property, private equity, private credit - both direct and through funds)****:

- **Deal implementation background is desirable, considering operational and finance related components****:

- **Track record of initiative in project delivery***
