Student Support Role: Post 16 Pastoral Support

**Duties and responsibilities -**
- Collaborate with colleagues to identify students who require additional support and build a package of appropriate support that encourages self efficacy and independence while improving academic performance
- Develop and implement individual support plans and action plans
- Refer students to the Careers Advisor if required (through the Learning Managers)
- Provide critical feedback to students in relation to progress, achievement and other areas relating to being a student at Post 16
- Provide 121 coaching to targeted students in the following areas
- Organisation
- Research
- Use of ICT resources
- Use of the LRC
- Effective study technique
- Revision skills
- Where appropriate provide in-class 121 support (prompting and supporting understanding)
- Recording and communicating progress and concerns with class teachers, Learning Managers and SLT when required
- Supporting the Centre’s duty to safeguard students by following appropriate policies and liaising with the Designated Safeguarding Lead
- Review and implement any SEND plans that individual students may have had in place at their secondary academy and make adaptations to meet the needs of Post 16 study
- Advocate on behalf of students when required for reasonable adjustments to be made to teaching practice or the school environment
- Highlight students when required to the Exams and Data Officer for assessment of exam access arrangements
- Liaise with parents, carers and other appropriate outside organisations
