**Job purpose**

To work alongside the Advocacy Manager to deliver Dementia Advocacy in Stoke on Trent and North Staffordshire, building on the Foundation’s existing model of advocacy that will meet the needs of older people who have, or who are likely to have, a diagnosis of dementia.

**Accountability**

The Advocate is accountable to the Advocacy Manager for the delivery of advocacy to specified quality standards.

Annual objectives will be set for this role which will be used to monitor and evaluate performance within the appraisal scheme.

**Principal Tasks**

**1.** **Project Development and Delivery**

1.1 To provide direct advocacy support to older people living with dementia.

1.2 To operate a referral system allocating cases as appropriate.

**2.** **Monitoring and Evaluation**

2.1 Monitor the impact of quality advocacy and support.

2.2 Maintain appropriate records and produce reports within the Foundation’s agreed framework.

2.3 Collect monitoring information in accordance with the service level agreement and BJF requirements.

**3.** **Working in partnership**

3.1 To facilitate the appropriate use of advocacy with older people living with dementia by creating effective links with professionals in all relevant sectors.

3.2 Attend meetings and networks as agreed with the Dementia Advocacy Manager and BJF CEO.

**4.** **General**

4.1 To participate in the Foundation’s supervision and appraisal processes.

4.2 To undertake learning and development relevant to the post.

4.3 Operate at all times within the policies, practice and ethos of the Foundation

4.4 To do all that is reasonably practicable to maintain a safe and healthy work environment, including undertaking risk assessments.

4.5 To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 21 per week

**Salary**: £15,754.00 per year
