You will be a member of Hartlepool’s Safer Streets Project Team, which is part of the wider Hartlepool Community Safety Team.
You will assist in the development and delivery of Hartlepool’s Safer Streets Project targeting acquisitive crime and environmental crime in the Victoria Ward during 2024-25.
You will identify and work with local communities, and statutory, voluntary and community sector partners to build strong, confident and cohesive communities, and improve the quality of life in the Victoria Ward.
You will help to develop and support grass roots community groups and projects by coordinating small scale grant funding under the Community Development Fund.
You will undertake community engagement, development, capacity building, and campaigns to encourage and assist local communities in the Victoria Ward to take ownership of their area, encourage reporting of problems to the police and council, and to establish three Neighbourhood Watch Schemes in hotspot areas.
You will undertake regular and monthly walkabouts, door knocks, leafleting, and drop in events with local residents, councilors and partners to identify issues, organise and manage quarterly days of action with partners to address issues identified, distribute home security anti-burglary packs to residents in hotspot streets, and undertake baseline and end of paroject resident and landlord perception surveys in the Victoria Ward.
